Partial Meniscectomy Surgery

This procedure is performed using key hole surgery to remove the damaged part of the meniscal cartilage.  Only the torn area of meniscus is removed in order to preserve as much healthy, stable tissue as possible for the patient.

The surgery is very low risk and done as a day case procedure with most patients returning to work after 1-4 weeks depending on the type of occupation.  Recovery times vary but full function can often be restored within 6 weeks of the operation in most cases.
